Red Nose Day/A Thank You From Mrs Scott

A massive thank you to all the parents and children in P4 for the lovely gifts and cards.  You really shouldn't have - there was absolutely no need!!  It was all very much appreciated though. Thank you  :0)

We had a great red nose day coming in dressed up in red and as famous people!

The necklace and scarf are absolutely beautiful -whoever chose them has exactly the same taste as me!  Thank you :0)

Measuring In Metres and Centimetres

We have been learning to measure with metres, half metres and centimetres.  We've had great fun measuring things in and outside the classroom with metre sticks, metre strips, half metre strips and rulers.  Here we are seen measuring different lengths of string  - a challenge Mrs Scott prepared for us!

We had to estimate each length of string first in m and cm.

Then we had to accurately measure each length of string.

It was quite difficult as most of the lengths of string were longer than a metre.

We had to record our findings in two ways - in only cm and in m and cm.

We worked in pairs and measured together.  We quite often had different estimations though!

Drama - Making Well Known Constellations

In Drama last week we made some well known constellations with our bodies.  We were focussing on group co-operation.  Great fun was had by all!

 Cassiopeia!

 Cassiopeia again!

Another group make a splendid job of Cassiopeia!

 Ursa Major (the Plough)

 Another great Ursa Major!

 Orion - tricky one!

 Another version of Cassiopeia

A very laid back Ursa Major!

A larger group attempt at Orion.
Well done P4!
